Julia Mazzotta wins Award

Congratulations to Julia Mazzotta who was recently recognized by the Young Entrepreneurs' Academy for her business "Sugar Lips" which produces and sells lip scrubs and bath bombs. Julia was awarded $200 to use toward her business's continued development, and she was also awarded a one-year membership to the Chamber of Commerce, where she hopes to network and continue to learn more about business.

The Young Entrepreneurs' Academy met at MVCC for 3-hours weekly from November through May where Julia and other young adults learned fundamentals of business and marketing by actually developing a product and brand. Julia was assisted by her mother, Mrs. Barbara Mazzotta, who provided guidance and served as Julia's graphic designer. Based on Julia's ideas, Barbara Mazzotta developed 8 logos and business card designs to pitch to Julia, which Julia then chose for her business. Julia presented her company and sold her products at a trade show recently.

We are proud of Julia and her community involvement. She was able to do all this while maintaining good grades in school, training multiple times each week at the American Martial Arts Institute, and participating in many other activities with her school and family. Congratulations.
