Iaido / Batto Testing

Iaido/Batto Testing May 20, 2016

Iaido is a martial arts discipline that is designed for adults. Maturity and a grasp of life and its challenges assist the student in their travels down this Do or way. Testing's are held once a year or twice a year. Testing's allow the student to see how to improve for a better focus on the journey ahead. In traditional Iaido it is truly all about the journey not the rank. Self improvement is the goal and personal growth is the reward.

This testing is receiving more publicity and coverage than earlier testings for one specific reason. At this testing Renshi Nathan Morris tested for Kyoshi. This is the status of Master Instructor or Teacher Grade. To test for this rank you should be at least fifty years old with the skill and knowledge that would allow you to pass the style and its social impact on to others who have chosen this Do. For more about Nathan Morris and his testing see the section devoted to him on this web site.

Out of the students that tested the following have passed:

Beginner to Intermediate Rank

Ronny Bull is now Intermediate Rank

C. Bret Jessee is now Intermediate Rank

Maria Quintal is now Intermediate Rank

Intermediate to Advanced Rank

Sabrina Crandall is now Advanced Rank

Kyle Mizgala is now Advanced Rank

Renshi to Kyoshi

Nathan Morris is now Kyoshi
