The first annual adult seminar day was held at the Utica location on Saturday, January 14th and was taught by Grandmaster Crandall and the instructors and staff of the American Martial Arts Institute.

The Takenouchi-Hangan-Ryu-Matsuno-Crandall Iaido school now has it's own homepage on our website. If you want to know more about this traditional samurai style under the direction of Headmaster Crandall, please visit the link above. The page also has links to Class Schedules, information on Headmaster Crandall and Headmaster Matsuno, the Iaido school's trip to Japan in 2002, and the iaido school brochure.

Crandall System: Level 2 Taught in Syracuse
Level 2 of the Crandall System is an instructional program for public and private schools and organizations for teaching teenagers self-defense and escape techniques. Recently, level 2 was taught at East Syracuse-Minoa High School by Grandmaster Crandall.

On March 11th, four individuals tested for and earned new black belt ranks in American Eagle Style.

Albany Location Demonstration
On February 11th, instructors and students from the Albany location led by Master Hillicoss held a demonstration for the Clear Channel Family Activity Day at Latham Circle Mall.
The Crandall System Implemented District Wide
East Syracuse-Minoa School District recently recieved training and certification for all of its physical education teachers K-12 and have implemented the Crandall System of safety and awarness for its entire school district.

Grandmaster Crandall accepts Mr. Richard Hillicoss from the Albany location into staff member status in the American Martial Arts Institute.

Grandmaster
Fumio Demura Seminar 2006
On Monday, April 10th, instructors and students
of the American Martial Arts Institute trained in two seminars taught
by Grandmaster Fumio Demura. The first seminar was on self-defense
techniques and the second was on a traditonal empty-hand Japanese
kata.

ROTC Trained by Grandmaster Crandall and Master Hillicoss
On Tuesday March 21, 2006, Grandmaster Crandall, Master Hillicoss, and five instructors from the American Martial Arts Institute had the opportunity to work with the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Air Force ROTC (Detachment 550) cadets.
