AMERICAN MARTIAL ARTS INSTITUTE FEATURED
IN INSIDE KUNG-FU MAGAZINE
The March 2010 issue of Inside Kung Fu Magazine includes an article written by Chief Instructor Eric Stalloch and prominently features the American Martial Arts Institute. The article titled, "Cane Fu Gets A-Head," was written by Mr. Stalloch and Grandmaster Crandall during August of 2009 after hosting a seminar with Grandmaster Mark R. Shuey, Sr., the head and founder of Cane Masters International Assocation and the American Cane System (style) of martial arts.
The American Martial Arts Institute offers three distinct styles: American Eagle Style (empty-hand), Takenouchi-Hangan-Ryu-Matsuno-Crandall Iaido (traditional sword), and the American Cane System. Each of these styles are taught in their classes and are being maintained in their pure form without blending and diluting the styles.
Mr. Eric Stalloch has been training in American Eagle Style for over 21 years, but under Grandmaster Crandall's supervision he additionally trains in the American Cane System under Grandmaster Shuey. Mr. Stalloch is one of two certified Cane Masters at the American Martial Arts Institute, the other is Mrs. Lynn Jessee.
The article includes three-full color pages of step-by-step photographs and descriptions of how to execute three cane self-defense techniques that result in control of the attacker's head, and therefore, neutralization of the attacker. Inside Kung Fu is one of the world's most prominent martial arts magazine.
The article represents American Cane System through Grandmaster Shuey's involvement and the American Eagle Style through Grandmaster Crandall's involvement. Both school's, styles, and Grandmaster's are discussed in the article, in addition to the information about the techniques.
