Those who test for sixth degree must have a minimum time requirement of three years at the rank of fifth degree. This allows the individual, who must be an instructor to test for sixth degree, the necessary time for personal growth and development that is essential to American Eagle Style’s traditional philosophy.
The testing for sixth degree is very involved, and the testing itself spans a period of five months. The criteria covered includes a booklet of twelve questions which must be researched and answered in essay form, that cover not only our style and school but many other styles around the world as well.
At the time of this testing, each individual has acquired at least 42 forms of American Eagle Style. For the physical portion of their testing, they must demonstrate proficiency at performing the five required forms to test for sixth degree: Cheongwon, Gekisai, SipJin, Heian 5 and Bassai Sho, as well as demonstrate familiarity with moves from katas using 6 different weapons that are utilized in our school.
With all of this in mind, we are pleased to announce that as of December 1, 2007, four individuals completed the requirements and were presented their tips for sixth degree black belt.
Having successfully competed their testing, the following individuals were promoted by Grandmaster Crandall:
Sixth Degree Black Belt was Awarded to:
Miss Linda Möller------6th Degree, Black Belt
Mrs. Pauline Waldron------6th Degree, Black Belt
Dr. Nicholas Chuff------6th Degree, Black Belt
Mr. David Phillips------6th Degree, Black Belt
These individuals received their belt tips on December 1, 2007, but they will receive their certificates of rank at a formal recognition on April 5th 2008 at the Ceremonial Black Belt Breakfast. Congratulations to these dedicated students of American Eagle Style.
All testings are posted at both locations: Utica and Albany. Within
two weeks of the testing they
