Cane Seminar

On September 15th, 2007, the American Martial Arts Institute under the direction of Grandmaster Crandall hosted an American Cane System seminar.  The seminar was presented by Mrs. Lynn Jessee and Mr. Eric Stalloch.  Both Mrs. Jessee and Mr. Stalloch are certified black belts in the American Cane System under the direction of internationally recognized cane master Grandmaster Mark Shuey, Sr.  Grandmaster Shuey is the founder of the American Cane System and Cane Masters International Association.  Grandmaster Shuey traveled to Central New York to oversee the seminar.

The two-hour seminar covered a variety of topics including exercise and strength training, basic blocks and strikes, a cane kata, self-defense against punches, double-lapel grabs, throat grabs, headlocks, ground fighting, and more.

The seminar was the final critera for Mrs. Jessee and Mr. Stalloch to complete in testing under Grandmaster Shuey's American Cane System. Upon completion of the seminar, Grandmaster Shuey presented Mrs. Jessee and Mr. Stalloch with certificates promoting them both to Cane Masters.
