Women's Self-Defense Seminar |

Grandmaster Crandall, assited by instructors from the American Martial Arts Institute, presented a women's self-defense seminar at Mohawk Valley Community College in Central New York on January 31st, 2007. The seminar was held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The first hour was devoted to general safety and awareness information, suggestions for security, and some of the myths of assaults. Some of this information included what to do when being followed, how to give directions to people without increasing vulnerability, how to dress defensively, and much more. The second hour was spent learning and practicing self-defense techniques including how to form a proper fist, punches, kicks, escaping a throat grab, escaping a wrist grab, and much more. The Mohawk Valley Community College participants were a nice group, and everyone who participated had a lot of fun. |
