The American Martial Arts Institute is preparing for another international martial arts exchange. This time an exchange of knowledge will take place between the United States and leading martial artists in Australia. As a result of this upcoming trip, Grand Master Crandall and some of the students who will be traveling with him to Australia thought that it was an ideal time to get open water certified in SCUBA diving. This choice was based on the fact that during the two week stay in Australia, they will have three days in Cairns, allowing them an opportunity to dive at the Great Barrier Reef.
Prior
to the fifth dive and completing certification regulations. The group
was ready to do a fun dive covering the wreck and other areas and going
as deep as 60-65 feet. With this in mind, Grand Master Crandall contacted a five-star instructional SCUBA organization in Rome, New York called Delta Divers which is headed by five-star dive master David Hinman. After pool classes, study classes, and weeks of preparation, the group went to the Saint Lawrence River at Alexandria Bay to dive the ilander paddle boat wreck. The following instructors and students of the American Martial Arts Institute are now certfied for open water SCUBA diving: Grand
