The Junior Rank Demonstration Team Performs July 12, 2000
This was for the Whitestown Summer Park Program
Grand Master Crandall opened the performance by explaining a little about
the martial arts and the American Eagle Style. As he talked, students continued
to gather on the hillside to see traditional martial arts performed with an
American style. Team members that were able to participate at this demonstration
included Travis Donley, Dan Boak, Nicole Stanulevich and Ian Ramsey. A special
guest student Anastasja Abraham also participated in this hour performance.

An example of class structure and procedure was demonstrated by
the team under the direction of Master Jill Crandall. The first picture shows
the short stretching segment with Master Crandall teaching and the second picture
was the beginning of the empty hand forms or katas with guest student Anastasja
doing her pal-gwe.

Here you see the team members doing horse stance center punch starting with
Travis Donley, then Dan Boak, (second row) first Ian Ramsey and then Nicole
Stanulevich.

A special performance was done by Ian and Nicole with the
escrima sticks. This demonstration led the group into weapons forms done
by each team member.

Here on the far left is Nicole with the Naginata, (center) Dan
Boak with the Sais and (right) Ian with the Escrima sticks.

A favorite part for the audience is the breaking segment of a martial arts
demonstration. Below are pictures, first of Nicole executing an elbow strike followed
by a hammer fist break.
The last break was performed by Travis. This Multiple
break included a center kick followed by a ridge hand strike and concluded with a palm
heel strick through four boards.

In conclusion, questions were answered and students handed out Action
Martial Arts Magazine trading cards to everyone. This trading card is one of
the 54 in the year 2000 deck with Grand Master Crandall on it.

It was a fun time for everyone concluding with the demonstration team
going back to the school location in Yorkville and having pizza and discussion
about the performance.
